Accessibility

For wheelchair visitors and those with decreased mobility it is only the ground floor of the building that will be accessible. Access to the first floor is via a wooden staircase. At present the staircase has no handrail.  Unfortunately we do not have toilet facilities at the museum.  The nearest WC is in the village car park.

Parking

Parking is free at the entrance to the Palace grounds.  Please be advised that this is only between the hours of 10am and 6pm. At other times the gate to the car park and to the grounds will be locked.  Parking is also available in the town in pay & display car parks at Basingwell Street (short stay) and Lower Lane (long stay).

By Train

The nearest railway station is Botley, 5.5km, 3.4m away. However, the rural roads often have no pavements so are not recommended for walking. There are stations with good connections at Winchester, Fareham and Southampton, from where buses are available.

The closest airport is Southampton.
